On this day in BOXING history: Monzon vs. Valdez II – 1977

On this date in boxing history, in 1977, Carlos Monzon retains his middleweight championship via 15 round unanimous decision over Rodrigo Valdez.  The two had met over a year ago in a bout also won by Monzon. This was the final fight on Monzon’s career.  Watch the fight below.
