NewsIconThere used to be a lot of talk about the sport of boxing dying.  The funny thing is the “talk” about the sport losing popularity is itself dying.  There’s been some good fights lately, decent match-ups, and potential great fights on the horizon which have fans talking.  With that said, lets look at some of the latest news and bits from the world of professional boxing.

  1. Rogelio “Porky” Medina knocked out super middleweight prospect, J-Leon Love in the third round this past Saturday night.  Medina moves to 33-6 while PreviewLove’s record is now 18 and 1.
  2. Manny Pacquiao & Chris Algieri’s press tour is coming to Manhattan.  After going to China, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, the tour end’s in Algieri’s home state.
  3. Former champ, Adrien Broner will be fighting this Saturday in Ohio.  The fight will be broadcasted on Showtime.  He will face Emmanuel Taylor.
  4. Bob Arum & Oscar de la Hoya may be co-promoting.  Wow.
