Float like a butterfly...

Footwork is essential to every boxer. It is needed whether you're attacking, defending, or counter-attacking. Good footwork gives you balance which in turn gives you power and the ability to retreat when needed.

Keeps these things in mind while moving around the ring.

  • Do not take big steps. Keep them short.
  • Do not lunge at your opponent unless you are certain you can land an attack; his hands are down and is a bit dazed.
  • Keep your hands up while moving around the ring.
