Flat foot 2 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello, I've just started to do some boxing training at home (by watching your videos).
I have flat foot, but i haven't felt any pain yet whatsoever, i was wondering:
Is there any disadvantages in having flat foot?
Is it possible to become successful boxer being flat footed?

Would like to hear from boxing trainer.

Thanks

Hey, I am new to this site. I am not a trainer but I have been kickboxing for about 10 years and i just started boxing. I have flatfoot and there is one thing you have to watch out for. Its posterior tibial tendonitis. I had that and it turns into shin splints or a stress fracture which can be horrible. Remeber to stretch your posterior tibial tendon and do calf raises and other exercises to create and arch. This is information i recieved from my doctor but i am no professional so please check on the info i gave you before you rely on it. Thank you.

I'm not a trainer but my recommendation is to see a podiatrist, they can recommend various ways to improve the problem.

I think the main thing is to try and counter-act the improper weight distribution that's going to happen naturally because of the flatfoot issue....

I don't think it will stop you from fighting, it's going to be mostly about your determination.

I think the best thing you can do is find out all you can about your specific situation, from your doctor and possibly a specialist.

The more informed you are the better you can counter-act any challenges you face with it.
