On this day in BOXING history: Maxim vs. Robinson – 1952

On this day in 1952, Joey Maxim stops Sugar Ray Robinson in fourteen rounds to retain the light-heavyweight championship. Although way ahead on the scorecards, Robinson eventually succumbed to heat exhaustion.
